This can be done either way round – head to our base in Kaikohe and get kitted our with one of our bikes from our new fleet – we can drive you to Okaihau to start you ride or you head out from Kaikohe by bike and we collect you in Okaihau.

This short trail taster is 14 kms of easy riding skirting lake Omapere riding across farmland giving some lovely rural vistas – passes through an old rail tunnel and taking you to the town of Okaihau.

A perfect way to get see a small piece of our beautiful trail if you are under time restrictions, or riding with younger children that may not have the legs for a longer ride!

We recommend cycling to the west coast 45 km , generally downhill on an excellent track with pick up at the mission house where the Waitangi Treaty was signed.2 great food stops on the way! We were a group of 4 who hired ebikes from Top Trail Cycle Hire to independently bike the Twin Coast trail over 2 days. We stayed one night in Kaikohe and biked towards Kawakawa the first day and The Mission on the second. Tipene and Top Trails provided us with great bikes, a very efficient shuttle service and an informative and enjoyable commentary before we set out each day. Booking was easy. We really enjoyed our recent 2 day bike with your team. In our 70's and our first use of E bikes. They were great, well provided by Tipene and shuttles waiting for us as arranged. The journey was varied taking us into the lesser populated west coast plus the vintage train on the east coast. Highly recommended.
