Day 1

Drive to our Top Trail Depot in Kaikohe. Kaikohe is in the middle of the Cycle trail. We kit you out on your e-bike, with helmet.

Cycle to the East or West Coast

East Coast is Kaikohe to Opua, 34km cycling, a 3.7km train ride and another 2.7km cycling.  Or if no training running a 34km cycle to Kawakawa.

West Coast is Kaikohe to Horeke, 42km cycling

At the end of your ride we collect you in our shuttle and transport you back to the Left Bank Hotel in the centre of Kaikohe.

Day 2

You can cycle to the trail (about 1km)

After your day cycling we will collect you in our shuttle and bring you back to Kaikohe.

From Kaikohe you make your own way to the Kerikeri Park Lodge, Kerikeri which is 26km.

Day 3

Kerikeri Park Lodge will deliver a gourmet cooked breakfast to your room.

The Pou Herenga Tai Twin Coast Cycle Trail – is an easy to intermediate ride across Northland, linking the Bay of Islands and Hokianga Harbour through coastal paths, native forest, wetlands, and rolling farmland. Rich in Māori and colonial heritage, the route features storyboards, a vintage train crossing, suspension bridges, and year‑round cycle‑friendly trail.  The Twin Coast Cycle Trail is predominantly grade 1 and 2 with easy, flat riding with a small amount of uphill and downhill there is one piece of the trail (1.2kms) that is grade 3 which is the switch back into the Utakura valley – you can dismount for this piece if you are not confident.
